Repair pricing at Reno Computer Co
These are our standard labor rates. Parts costs are quoted separately and depend on your specific model. Every repair starts with a free over-the-counter diagnosis — you'll get a full quote before any work begins.
Is it worth repairing your laptop?
A good rule of thumb: if the repair costs less than 50% of the laptop's current market value, it's usually worth fixing. A $120 screen replacement on a $600 laptop is an easy call. A $350 logic board repair on a $300 laptop is not.
When you bring your device in, we'll give you an honest assessment. If a repair doesn't make financial sense, we'll tell you — and we can show you comparable refurbished options starting at $149 with a 1-year warranty.
What affects laptop repair cost?
The model matters most. A Dell Latitude screen is far cheaper to source than a MacBook Retina panel. Parts availability, screen resolution, and whether the repair requires specialized tools all factor into the final cost.
Labor is consistent. Our diagnostic process is the same regardless of brand. The free diagnosis tells us exactly what's needed before we commit to a price.
We'll never quote you blindly. A shop that gives you a firm screen price before seeing the model is either overcharging to cover uncertainty or underquoting and will add costs later. We quote after we see it.
Same-day repair — what qualifies
Most screen replacements, battery swaps, virus removals, and Windows reinstalls are completed same-day when parts are in stock. We stock common screens and batteries for Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple. If a part needs to be ordered, typical lead time is 1–2 business days.
Repair guarantee
Every repair at Reno Computer Co is backed by our Repair It, Replace It, or Refund It Guarantee. If the same issue recurs within the warranty period, we'll fix it at no additional charge. We stand behind our work.
